Manggala Furniture

History

Manggala Furniture was born from Mr. Wiyadi’s idea and interest in creating wooden furniture from the teak wood residue of his house construction in 1981. In Indonesia, it’s a common practice to use teak as the foundation of a house.

The name ‘Manggala’ originally came from ‘Manggolo’ the last name of our Founder, Mr. Wiyadi Wangsa Manggolo. He chose this name to honor his parent’s family name through his art of works, Manggala Furniture.

Realizing that he’s got a good hand in turning teaks into a creative yet functional work, he brought the spirit of the local brand, and the creativity of local people and then started this company. Mr. Wiyadi always believes in the power of teak wood as the best quality of wood in Indonesia, even the world. That is why, in Manggala, we produced each of our products with only local teak wood.

For years, Manggala Furniture has been creating furniture made of teak wood since 1985. Using the legendary teak and combining it with the use of modern design, we’ve been shipping our products to Europe and The U.S. since 1998. We still continue our purpose of making Indonesian brands at the top of the International furniture industry with a production capacity of 12 – 20 containers per month.
